Export
Although Chevredor is licensed to export all types of livestock, we specialize in goats. We offer a service that is unique in the industry and this is probably why the business has grown so rapidly. From small beginnings in 2006, by 2009 Chevredor was the largest exporter of Boer and Boer cross goats in Australia. Being able to select and transport the stock ourselves, prepare them in our own quarantine centre and then transport them to the airport ourselves for loading gives us a continuity of care that is rare in the industry. Our buyers also appreciate that we are farmers, not just livestock exporters. This allows us to provide follow-up advice on nutrition and management making Chevredor a truly “one-stop-shop” for goat exports:Chevredor Boer Goat Stud
Chevredor Transport Service
One of the major challenges confronting Australian livestock exporters is of course the sheer size of Australia and the resulting high cost of transport. Never one to take a back seat, Laurie drives his export sales from the seat of two new Mercedes trucks, a semi with four-deck B-Double trailers for long haul and a two-deck rigid body truck for short haul. Laurie shares the driving with our stock manager, Jim Wright, so during transport the stock are always under the direct care of stockmen not just truck drivers! The other limiting factor for Australian livestock exporters is supply and here we have to thank the enormous number of breeders that continue to support us. Chevredor’s current export clients can source stock not only from Chevredor’s own breeding herd but also from over 400 breeders comprising both large commercial operations and some of the best known studs in the country.
Follow-up service and education – We understand that when the goats land at the airport, the job is not over – it has just begun! Training at the Chevredor farm, at the Chevredor artificial breeding centre or abroad, is a major part of how we help you turn imported goats into a commercially viable goat enterprise. Training courses range from basic commercial goat management to artificial insemination and embryo transfer. Courses can be specifically designed to meet your needs. We have been exporting goats for many years now and even for those not wishing to do a course, we can offer advice on the care and management of imported goats.
Chevredor is an AQIS licensed livestock exporter (L530) but the service we offer is unique. From the time of selection, the goats are never out of the direct care and control of experienced goat breeders. We are there, in person, every step of the way.........
Look over our standard specifications or help us modify them to suit your particular requirements.
